How to book Lamborajo

It takes one message. WhatsApp or email the reservations desk with your dates, group size and preferred boat. The desk replies with availability and the live rate, holds your date against a deposit confirmed in writing, and collects the passenger manifest for park permits before boarding day.

No booking engine, no cart, no "request a quote" black hole. A charter is a conversation with a reservations desk, and this page tells you exactly how that conversation runs, what you will be asked for, and which pieces of paper to insist on — so nothing about the process is a surprise.

The five steps

  1. Send the enquiry. WhatsApp +62 811 3823 875 or email email the reservations desk with three things: dates (plus a fallback), headcount, and the boat — Lamborajo 1, 2 or 3. Undecided on the boat? Say so and give your budget per head instead.
  2. Get availability and the live rate. The published card is the standing baseline; peak windows — July–August, Christmas–New Year — can carry surcharges, so the desk quotes the live figure for your exact dates. Compare it against the published rate card; the numbers should reconcile.
  3. Hold the date with a deposit — in writing. The desk confirms the deposit amount, payment method and cancellation terms in writing before you transfer anything. Never pay against a figure given only verbally, and only to account details from the verified desk contacts above.
  4. Send the manifest and settle the balance. Park permits need a passenger list — names and passport details for foreign guests — plus dietary requirements for the galley. The desk confirms the balance deadline when it confirms the booking.
  5. Boarding day. Hotel pick-up in Labuan Bajo from 08:00, pier check-in from about 09:00, departure between 09:30 and 10:30. Bring passports matching the manifest and rupiah cash for park-collected charges and crew tips.

Labuan Bajo harbour on a boarding morning. Check-in runs from about 09:00; the fleet is away between 09:30 and 10:30.

What to have ready before you enquire

Enquiry checklist — the desk will ask for these
ItemWhy it matters
Dates plus one fallback windowFleet availability is real; a fallback usually saves a week of back-and-forth
Honest headcountRate tiers break at 12, 16 and 20 guests; capacity caps at 22–25 by boat
Duration — 2D1N, 3D2N or 4D3NUndecided? The duration comparison settles it in five minutes
Budget per head, if the boat is openLets the desk recommend across all three hulls instead of quoting one
Flight times, if bookedDay-three return is 11:00–13:00; a 14:00 flight is tight, 16:00 comfortable

Payment, in plain terms

Rates are quoted in US dollars; settlement in rupiah is normally possible at the prevailing rate — confirm currency, rate and method in writing with the desk. Companies booking a team outing can request an invoice and written confirmation of inclusions for finance approval. What the rate covers — and the park fees, flights and tips it does not — is itemised on every vessel page.

Cancellations and weather

Two different clauses, often confused. Your cancellation falls under the terms confirmed at deposit — read them before paying. A captain's weather cancellation is different: when a sailing is called off on safety grounds, reputable operators reschedule or refund, and you should have that policy in writing before booking December–March dates especially. The seasonal risk picture is on the 2027 sailing schedule.

One honest warning

Komodo has a documented problem with fake booking accounts

Protect yourself with two habits: pay only against written confirmation, and only to the desk contacts published here and on the fleet reservations desk, the reservations operation behind this fleet since 2015. If a "special discount" arrives from an unverified number, it is not a discount.

Booking questions, answered

How do I book a Lamborajo boat?

Message WhatsApp +62 811 3823 875 or use the email button on this page with dates, group size and preferred boat. The desk replies with availability and the live rate, then holds the date against a written deposit confirmation.

How much deposit is required?

The desk confirms the deposit amount, method and terms in writing when it holds your date. Never transfer against a verbal figure or an unverified account — written confirmation first, payment second.

How far ahead should I book?

Two to three months for April–June and September–November; four to six for July–August and the Christmas window, where Lamborajo 2's 25 berths go first. Last-minute dates do clear in shoulder season — ask.

What documents do guests need?

Passports for foreign guests — details go on the manifest for Komodo National Park permits — and the park entrance fee of IDR 250,000 per foreign visitor under PP No. 36/2024, collected with ranger charges at the park.

Can I change my dates after paying a deposit?

Subject to availability and the terms confirmed at deposit. Weather cancellations called by the captain are handled separately: reschedule or refund, per the written policy you should hold before paying.

Ready to start?

Send dates, headcount and boat. Step two happens in the first reply.

Process reflects the reservations desk's standard flow for 2026–2027 sailings. Rates follow the published Lamborajo charter card; peak dates can carry surcharges. Park fees follow PP No. 36/2024. Always obtain deposit, inclusion and weather terms in writing before transferring funds.

Operator

Lamborajo I, II and III are operated as a charter by a dedicated Labuan Bajo charter desk — running a nine-vessel value fleet in Komodo National Park, sailing from Labuan Bajo since 2015, with expertise in value-fleet charters for groups.

Each Lamborajo vessel is owner-held. The charter desk inspects it against a published 12-point vessel quality standard before dispatch, contracts directly with guests, and carries responsibility for the voyage. Booking through the operator’s own desk means verified availability and official rates.
