Komodo Boat for 20–25 People: Capacity, Cabins & Group Rates

Two boats in the Lamborajo fleet can carry a group of 20–25 on one hull: Lamborajo 1 takes up to 24 guests in 6 cabins with shared bathrooms, and Lamborajo 2 takes up to 25 in 8 en-suite cabins. The flagship Lamborajo 3 caps at 22. At these sizes a 3D2N works out at roughly USD 203–370 per person on the published card.

Groups of this size hit a wall most websites never mention: licensed capacity. Plenty of Komodo boats photograph beautifully and sleep sixteen. The number that matters is the berth count on the vessel’s papers — the manifest the park checks — and in this fleet that number is public, per boat, below.

Capacity, boat by boat

Lamborajo 1246SharedYes, to 24
Lamborajo 2258, en-suitePrivateYes, to 25 — the fleet maximum
Lamborajo 3228, en-suitePrivateTo 22 only

Read the cabin column as carefully as the capacity column. Twenty-four guests in Lamborajo 1’s six cabins means four-berth rooms and a queue-tolerant group. Twenty-five in Lamborajo 2’s eight en-suite cabins means mixed doubles, twins and family layouts — a configuration the desk maps against your actual party list, couples first.

What a 20–25 person group pays

3D2N charter totals and per-person split at full-group sizes — published rates
GroupBoatCharter totalPer person
20Lamborajo 1USD 4,000~USD 200
24Lamborajo 1USD 4,000 + 4 × 220 = USD 4,880~USD 203
20Lamborajo 2USD 7,750~USD 388
25Lamborajo 2USD 7,750 + 5 × 300 = USD 9,250~USD 370
22Lamborajo 3USD 9,850 + 2 × 300 = USD 10,450~USD 475

Above 20 guests the card switches from tier pricing to per-head supplements — USD 220–300 per extra guest on 3D2N depending on the boat — which is why the per-person figure barely moves between 20 and full capacity. Durations other than 3D2N follow the same pattern; the full grid is on the cost per person page.

Bigger than 25? Two hulls, one route

No single Lamborajo carries 26. The working solution for 26–49 guests is a two-boat charter sailing the same itinerary — Lamborajo 1 plus 2 gives 49 berths with both price points inside one group, budget cabins on one hull and en-suite on the other. Anchorages, snorkel stops and the dragon trek are shared; only the sleeping arrangements split. For programmes beyond that scale, or single-hull requirements above 25, the wider fleet at Komodo Luxury is the next call.

Logistics that bite at this size

  • The manifest is not optional. Park permits need every name — passports for foreign guests — before boarding. One missing passport at pier check-in (from 09:00) delays 24 people, not one. The process lives on how to book Lamborajo.
  • Park fees scale linearly. IDR 250,000 per foreign guest under PP No. 36/2024 — IDR 6.25 million in entrance fees alone for 25 foreign visitors, before ranger charges. Budget it as a line item, not a rounding error.
  • Book the 25-berth boat first. Lamborajo 2 is the only hull in the fleet — and one of few on the harbour — licensed for 25. In July–August she goes four to six months out; the 2027 schedule page has the booking-window table.
  • Company groups: invoicing, manifest wrangling and the season call are handled in the company outing guide.

Big-group questions — answered

Which Komodo boat can take 25 people?
In this fleet, Lamborajo 2: licensed for 25 guests in 8 en-suite cabins. Lamborajo 1 takes 24 with shared bathrooms at a lower rate; the flagship Lamborajo 3 caps at 22.
How much does a Komodo boat for 25 people cost?
On the published card, Lamborajo 2 at full 25-guest capacity is USD 9,250 for 3D2N – about USD 370 per person including meals, crew, snorkelling gear and Labuan Bajo transfers. Park fees and flights are extra.
Can we put 30 people on one boat?
Not in this fleet – licensed capacity tops out at 25. Groups of 26-49 charter two boats sailing the same route together, typically Lamborajo 1 plus Lamborajo 2 for 49 berths across two budgets.
Is licensed capacity the same as bed count?
Ask both questions. Licensed capacity is what the vessel’s papers and the park manifest allow; beds can exceed it. The figures on this page – 24, 25 and 22 – are the licensed guest counts used for booking.
How do cabins get allocated for a group of 25?
The desk maps your party list to Lamborajo 2’s mix of doubles, twins and family cabins before confirmation – couples first, then friends pairing into twins. Send the pairing list with the manifest and nobody re-shuffles at the pier.
